Spring 2018

Hello, residents, business owners, and visitors!

We trust our newsletter finds you in great health and spirit. The first quarter of 2018 is in the rear- view mirror and what is on the horizon for Woodmere Village is bright and sunny.

Woodmere has welcomed a dozen new businesses into our marketplace that is already home to more than 300 companies. Where else can you find nine jewelry stores, a half-dozen financial institutions, fine dining, upscale shopping, and specialty stores situated in safe and quiet surrounds? Woodmere has all the conveniences within the boundaries of one-squaremile. Our Village is in Cuyahoga County, Southeast, right off the highway at the 271-Chagrin Boulevard exit.

When I took office January 2018, the short-term goals were to spur economic development, promote Village businesses throughout the region, and beautify Woodmere as an inviting retreat. I am pleased to report that my administrative team is well on its way to executing the plan.

To buttress efficient police, fire, service, and building inspecting departments, Village Council authorized my request to add three consultants to augment economic development, communications, government relations. Furthermore, Woodmere Village is collaborating with our municipal neighbors, County and State officials, to mine resources to advance our aggressive mission. Woodmere is the Gateway to the Chagrin Valley and our objective is to continue to make our community an inviting destination where families live, shoppers delight, and business thrive.

Keep your eyes open for exciting developments including a villagewide music festival that will take place August 26th. There will be food and fun all in a family-friendly environment. Woodmere Village is a “best-kept” secret, but many who have been here know our community is a gem within Cuyahoga County.

It takes a Village to offer excitement, vitality, and the panache one might expect for an upscale-retail experience. So, I invite you to come and discover the difference – and do yourself a favor and bring a friend!
