Our hearts are heavy as we stand with Mayor Bibb, Safety Director Drummond, Chief Todd, Council President Blaine Griffin and the entire Cleveland Police Patrolman’s Association in this time of profound mourning.
The Woodmere Police Department and our community extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the brave 27-year-old Cleveland police officer who was tragically killed in the line of duty early this morning.

As the 4th of July holiday approaches, please remember that the discharge, ignition, or explosion of fireworks is PROHIBITED in the Village of Woodmere.
Fireworks can cause property damage, injury, disturb neighbors, scare pets, and prompt anxiety for veterans of war. We urge you to leave fireworks to the professionals and enjoy a safe holiday.
Last year, Ohio passed legislation allowing consumer-grade fireworks, but Woodmere Village has opted out of this legislation to prioritize the safety and peace of our community. Despite the legality of possessing fireworks, their discharge within village limits is strictly prohibited.
Woodmere Village Ordinance 2023-15 enforces this ban, and the Woodmere Police have been directed to issue citations for any offenses. Please be responsible and help us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Wishing you all a happy and safe 4th of July!
