Woodmere Village Joins the Community Partnership on Aging Famous Fire Department Chili Cook-Off 2023
Woodmere Village was honored to be a part of the vibrant Community Partnership on Aging (CPA) Famous Fire Department Chili Cook-Off 2023.

The Chili Cook-Off provided a platform for fire departments from neighboring cities, including Highland Heights, Lyndhurst, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village, Richmond Heights, and South Euclid.

Mayor Holbert had the distinct honor of representing Woodmere Village as a celebrity judge. Sincere gratitude to Wendy Albin Satin for her gracious invitation to Mayor Holbert where is role involved the delightful, albeit challenging, responsibility of evaluating the diverse and flavorful chili creations brought forth by the participating fire departments.

In the end, it was the Highland Heights fire department that emerged victorious, securing the first-place title and a well-deserved prize of $500.

It was a Spooktacular evening at Eton Chagrin Boulevard. Special thanks go out to the Woodmere Village Police Department and Woodmere Village Fire Department for showing up and showing out for the kids.

Hundreds of little goblins came out and had the opportunity to sit on the same Woodmere Village, electric motorcycle, ridden by Sergeant, Christopher Colon and see Officer Revan, and his handler officer Christopher Dotson who is part of the Woodmere Village K-9 unit.

Fire chief, Gina DeVito Staub was also there along with members of the fire department. Mayor Ben Holbert made an appearance but few recognized him in his costume.

It was a wonderful night. Thank you Eton Chagrin, Blvd.
