Woodmere Village

Charter Review Commissioners

The Charter Review Commission consists of seven members elected on a non-partisan ballot who serve without compensation.

The Commission reviews the municipal charter and within six calendar months after taking office delivers to Council such alterations, revisions, and amendments, if any, to this Charter as in the Commission’s judgment are desirable. The Charter Review Commission members’ terms shall end upon the delivery of its recommendations to the Village Council, but said term shall end no later than six months after the Commission members term has commenced.

The Commission must have an organizational meeting within thirty (30) days of the date of the commencement of the elected members’ terms and shall meet at least once a month thereafter with additional meetings as necessary until such time as the Commission has completed their review and recommendations to Council.

Meetings of the Charter Review Commission are open to the public.
