Woodmere at Work

Meet

Sheila Mason

Police Chief

Sheila Mason proudly serves Woodmere Village as the Chief of Police, a career she was destined for since playing Texas Ranger as a child.  Sheila served for two years in Woodmere before being promoted to Chief in 2012.

Originally from Paducah, KY., her family moved to Cleveland in 1971.  A product of CMSD, she graduated from East High School while attending Cleveland State.  While interning as a nursing student at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, she took a job as a police dispatcher with Cuyahoga Community College.

After years of service, her mentor, Chief Robert Brown motivated her to enroll in the college’s police academy.  Sheila moved through the ranks being promoted to various leadership positions including Sergeant, Captain and Commander servicing all three campuses. Simultaneously she co-owned RAN Security Services and Training Academy for a decade.

Her favorite quote is: “Blessed are those who can give without remembering, and take without forgetting.”  She receives by giving those who have made mistakes a second chance in life.

Sheila is the proud mother of two adult daughters.  She loves spending her spare time with her grandchildren and trotting the globe.
