Johnny Brewington

Fire Chief

As a United States Air Force veteran, President of the East Cleveland Civil Service Commission, City of Cleveland and Highland Hills firefighter and current Fire Chief of Woodmere Village, valor is in Johnny Brewington’s veins.

A proud alumnus of John Hay, Johnny continued his education with extensive work in Command-and-Control Decision Making in Multiple Alarm Incidents from the U. S. Fire Academy as well as the Carl Holmes Executive Development Institute ad Dillard University.

He is a certified Fire Instructor, Fire Inspector, Fire Medic and has training in Hazardous Material and Command and Control.  His expertise dates back nearly four decades and he has carried a multitude of titles.

Chief Brewington spends his time outside of work being active in community outreach and sits on various boards including the Western Reserve Fire Museum Advisory Board, University of Akron Fire Protection Advisory Board.  He is also a member of the Prince Hall Ecclesiastes Lodge 120 Free and Accepted Masons.  He enjoys mentoring, martial arts and reading.  Johnny and his wife have three children and six grandchildren.
