During the month of September, the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management (CCOEM), along with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and emergency management agencies across the Country, will promote National Preparedness Month. Throughout the month, CCOEM will send and post information about emergency preparedness to an array of audiences, including local communities.

Also CCOEM will host a preparedness event at the Cleveland Metroparks Rocky River Nature Center located at 24000 Valley Parkway, North Olmstead, OH, on September 17, 2016 from Noon- 3pm. The event will provide citizens with information on how to better prepare for emergencies within their homes, businesses, schools, and communities. Several organizations will be on hand, including: WKYC, Cleveland Metroparks, the National Weather Service the Cuyahoga County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES), US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Citizen Corp, Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA), and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health.
