The Woodmere Police Department is partnering with the City of Cleveland, in conjunction with the Bedford Municipal Court, to implement an amnesty program on July 30th, 2016. This “In the Neighborhood” program is an effort by the City of Cleveland to help clear warrants for people in the area.
Woodmere Village will be hosting our program August 27th and September 24th, 2016 beginning at 8am at our Village Hall. Per Chief of Police Shelia Mason, those participating in the program will NOT be arrested. Please see the Chagrin Valley Times article for further details.
“There are really two goals,” Chief Mason said. “One is to assist people in clearing their records so that they’re not constantly thinking that they’re going to get arrested, and the other reason is to clear our books. Some of this stuff has been sitting out there for years.”
