Helen Keller is quoted as saying: “ I cannot do everything, but I can do something. I must not fail to do the something that I can do.”
These words of wisdom have motivated me for many years. Looking back over the past three years, I can see that the plan I wrote for my first term in office has almost been completely fulfilled in three years’ time. In these three years, I have changed the way Woodmere does business, and expanded our economic development. Some of my business accomplishments are : I worked with Stark Enterprises to expand and renew our Eton Mall area. I put together a plan to raze the building housing Plato’s Closet in order to make way for a beautiful modern building for Ohio Savings Bank. Ohio Savings will bring in an increase in real estate tax revenues as well as RITA. Speaking of RITA, I also added $80,000 of Regional Income Tax revenue by negotiating rental agreements with business owners. This month I want to draw your attention to the events that have occurred in Woodmere since I took office: Healthcare summit in 2010, Black History Month celebration in 2011 and 2012, Easter Egg Hunt in 2010, 2011, and 2012, High School Graduation Luncheon 2012, Marsha Fudge Healthcare Summit 2012, and Woodmere Wag Tail 2012 to entertain our dogs and owners and to benefit the dog rescue organizations in the area.
